Effective July 17, 2026
Overview
This policy explains how Clippa handles information when you use clippa.net, including the public transcript preview and your signed-in transcript library.
Information we process
- Account information, such as your email address, profile details, and authentication identifiers.
- Content you submit or save, including YouTube URLs, public video metadata, transcript text and timestamps, and transcript-delivery status.
- Messages you send through the contact form or in response to a service email.
- Technical and security information processed by our hosting and authentication providers, such as request metadata, IP address, device information, and diagnostic logs.
- Limited first-party funnel events, such as landing source, preview completion, signup method, saved-result completion, export format, and response to a stated price. These events use a random flow identifier and exclude submitted YouTube URLs, video IDs, transcript text, email addresses, and raw query strings. Signed-in completion events may also be linked to the account identifier.
How we use information
- Provide, secure, and troubleshoot Clippa.
- Generate, save, reopen, and export requested transcripts.
- Send a transcript or account message when you request it.
- Respond to support requests and enforce these terms.
- Understand whether people complete the core workflow and express serious interest in a stated price.
- Comply with applicable law and protect users from abuse.
Sources and service providers
We receive information from you and from public YouTube pages. To operate Clippa, we use service providers for hosting, database and authentication (including Vercel and Supabase), transcript retrieval, and email delivery. A submitted video URL is sent to the transcript provider so it can retrieve available captions.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own terms. We do not sell personal information or use transcript content for third-party advertising.
Retention and deletion
Saved transcripts remain in your account until you delete the account or we remove data under this policy. Account deletion from account settings removes the account and its saved transcripts from the primary database. Funnel events are automatically deleted after 90 days. Limited backup, security, or diagnostic data may remain temporarily where needed to operate, recover, protect the service, prevent fraud, or meet legal obligations.
Your choices
You can review saved transcripts in your library, update account details in settings, and delete your account. For an access, correction, deletion, or privacy request, use the contact page. Rights vary by location, and we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Security and children
We use access controls and service-provider safeguards designed to protect information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Clippa is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Clippa changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Questions can be sent through the contact page.
