FAQ

Straight answers about transcripts, storage, and access

What does Clippa do?

Paste a supported YouTube URL to preview its available transcript. Sign in to save the complete transcript, find it in your library, and export it.

Which YouTube links work?

Clippa accepts HTTPS YouTube watch, Shorts, embed, and youtu.be links with a valid video ID. A transcript can only be created when usable captions are available.

Why do I need to sign in?

The public page shows a limited preview. Signing in lets Clippa save the complete transcript to your private library so you can reopen and export it later.

What can I export?

Saved transcripts can be copied or downloaded as plain text (TXT), SubRip captions (SRT), or WebVTT captions (VTT).

Does Clippa download or store the video?

No. Clippa stores the source URL, public video metadata, transcript text, and timestamps. Clip previews open the original YouTube video at the selected time range.

How much does Clippa cost?

Clippa is free during early access and does not require a payment method. We are testing whether Clippa Pro would be worth $12 per month. Recording interest does not create a subscription or authorize a charge; any paid offer will still be presented before payment.

Are there usage or storage limits?

Yes. Early access includes up to 25 newly generated transcripts per account each day and 100 MB of saved transcript storage. Reopening a transcript already in your library does not use the daily generation allowance. You can delete saved transcripts to recover storage.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete your account from account settings. Account deletion removes your saved transcripts from the primary database.
